Editing PDF metadata from the command line on Linux
[Wed Mar 25 15:36:19 CDT 2020]
While using FBReader, I notice that the PDF tags included in the metadata of quite a few files I was uploading to the Cloud were incorrect, therefore mangling the way the application organizes the data. So, I had to edit the metadata on Linux and, if possible at all, due to personal preference, using a command-line tool. I found the answer here. The Sending SMS messages from a computer via your Android phone
[Fri Mar 13 14:22:25 CDT 2020]
I recently bought a new smartphone, and ran into issues when configuring Pushbullet. Basically, no matter what I do the settings in Firefox, I never get to see the tool's main page and, therefore, cannot log in again. I do manage to see their banner for a split of a second, but then it goes away and it only shows a blank page. Yes, I have already disabled all the usual security features from the browser, but it doesn't appear to make a difference. So, I decided to investigate if there was any alternative to Pushbullet and, as it happens, there is. If you have an Android phone, simply use the default Android Messages application, and also the Android Messages website to allow you to send SMS messages from your computer. This page explains how to set it up both on Android and iOS phones. It works like a charm. {link to this entry} |
