Finally installed GrapheneOS on my phone
[Wed Jan 22 11:25:21 CST 2025]
I finally bit the bullet a couple of days ago, bought a Google Pixel 8a, and installed GrapheneOS on it. It was extremely easy thanks to their web installer. Much easier than I had expected. Here is a video showing the whole process step by step: For the time being, I've been installing and migrating the apps I use on a day to day basis. I haven't finished that process yet. As a matter of fact, I haven't even transferred the SIM card yet. But, so far, I like what I'm seeing. Also, although I know using multiple user profiles is part of the GrapheneOS experience and makes it much more privacy-friendly, for the time being I prefer to keep it simple and am using only one profile. Finally, as an additional source of information on the topic, here is a link to Solène Rapenne's introduction to GrapheneOS, which are quite good. {link to this entry} |
